For the holiday program, billed as a one-hour Pop-Up Livestream Concert, the group performed under COVID guidelines.
“For starters, you have to limit the amount of people that are playing,” explained Pearlman. “We all have to be distanced from each other, so there can’t be a big group, and we can’t have singers at this point. So, I made a list of pieces that we could do.”
Among them are: Corelli’s “Christmas Concerto,” Vivaldi’s “Concerto in C” for sopranino recorder, Bach’s “Violin Concerto in A minor,” and Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 3.”
“Not everyone plays at the same time,” said Pearlman, “but we’ll have between 12 and 15 musicians performing, and I’ll be leading from the harpsichord. We’ll play with masks, except for the recorder player who will be distanced from us and will be at his own little podium.”
